How long is a dog pregnant?
Dog gestation is approximately 63 days (9 weeks) from ovulation, with a normal range of 58–68 days. Smaller breeds may deliver slightly earlier, larger breeds slightly later.
When should I take my pregnant dog to the vet?
Ideally within the first 2–3 weeks to confirm pregnancy (ultrasound around day 25–30). Then again around day 45 for X-ray to count puppies. And have an emergency vet plan for the delivery.
