Can I over-walk my dog?

Yes, especially puppies, seniors, and brachycephalic (flat-faced) breeds. Signs of over-exercise: excessive panting, lagging behind, limping, lying down during walks. Stop and rest if you see these signs.

How much should I walk a puppy?

The general rule is 5 minutes per month of age, twice a day. So a 4-month-old puppy gets two 20-minute walks. Over-exercising puppies can damage growing joints.
